I Need Love is from Olivia's 1992 greatest hits album Back to Basics - it was one of the
four new songs on that album. The video has Olivia dressed in a sexy short black dress
with thigh length boots. The room, for some artistical reason, is full of ribbons and
lace. The video also features snippets from the 1988 Love and Let Video and Can't We Talk
It Over In Bed videos.
Olivia actually didn't find filming this video that enjoyable saying in 1994
"and it was the let’s put you in a black dress deal again, and I’m going
but I really don’t, you know, but we need a single, so... I mean as much it’s my
fault that I decided to record the song, but I knew that if I went to a record company
with these songs they’d either say well where’s the single, or where’s the
one that you’re going to get dressed in lingerie and sing and I remember going to do
publicity photos for the greatest hits album, and the guy, I said, look, I don’t want
to wear sexy clothes. It turned out quite nice, but it was like, they used everything but
the word sex that they could to try and convince me that I needed to wear a black
dress."
However, most fans agree the video came out just great with Olivia looking wonderful!
