Olivia became very impassioned about the possibility of
the flooding of Ferngully, which is a lovely piece of rainforest near Olivia's Australian
home in Byron Bay. Diana Young, who wrote the children's movie Ferngully: the Last
Rainforest, is now fighting to save the real Ferngully. They want the council to look at
alternatives to the dam which would only last 30 years.
A County Council member defends the decision saying the community badly needs the water
and that Olivia hasn't seen the real world!
We don't believe Ferngully was flooded in the end
