Olivia hosted this two hour special to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. It was one of her first public TV appearances since winning her own fight against breast cancer. Other guests appearing to sing, recite their own stories or provide comic relief included Sheryl Crowe, Byran Adams, Jane Seymour and Kathy Mattea.

Lifetime Concert

In the audience were many of her fans who gave her a very warm welcome - a standing ovation clearly taking Olivia by surprise! The concert was filmed in LA's Pantages Theatre about a week before the special went out on TV and Olivia took the time after the lengthy taping to sign autographs and pose for photos.

Olivia, dressed in a elegant black suit, performed Why Me? which she dedicated to her father who died in 1992. Olivia also introduced many of the other acts and spoke about her experience with breast cancer. In a candid moment she told how a talk show host (ed- Larry King) had asked her if she felt any less of a woman after loosing a breast. Olivia understandably was taken back that this question was asked without any warning live on air. She tells the audience - "pretty tactful huh?...To anyone thinking of asking that question, losing a breast doesn't make us any less of a woman. It's our spirit and soul that define us as women."

Lifetime concert 1996 Olivia Newton-John

Highlight of the concert was a live performance of I Honestly Love You with the group All 4 One. The concert's grand finale was a very lively, positive performance of Not Gonna Give Into It. Olivia was joined on stage by the other guests and those in the audience who'd been touched by cancer.
