Olivia topped the charts in the 70s and 80s with hits Have You Ever Been Mellow, Magic, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Physical and many more. As a young girl, Olivia fostered her love of singing, forming a group, Sol Four, with classmates. Then in the early 70s she broke into the music business with her first hit single, a cover of Bob Dylan’s If Not For You. The turning point in her career came with the release of Let Me Be There. The hit debuted high on the charts and began a decade of gold albums.
In 1978 Olivia co-starred with John Travolta in the movie Grease. The film catapulted Olivia into superstardom and lead to the production of the most successful movie musical soundtrack in history featuring duets with Travolta You’re The One That I Want and Summer Lovin’. The 80s proved to be just as successful for Olivia. In 1980 her song Magic became a hit. Then in 1981 Olivia’s album Physical sold over a million copies and remained #1 on the charts for weeks.
The 90s were triumphant for Olivia, as she overcame her battle with breast cancer and became a positive inspiration to all battling the disease. She continues to give back to the community and was recently named Woman of the Year by the American Red Cross. Olivia has now happily returned to her music with the release of her latest album Back With A Heart, for which she has garnered an Emmy for her songwriting.
