As the US reeled in the shock of last week’s terror attacks, two resident Aussies got straight up to help.

Chloe Lattanzi, daughter of Australia’s favourite mum-next-door, Olivia Newton-John, is living proof that even the smallest effort can help cheer up the spirits of others.

The day after the terrorist attack, 15-year-old Chloe and three friends stood for hours outside their local supermarket in Malibu, collecting funds for New York’s fire fighters.

Proving she has all the natural talents of her celebrity mum, Chloe even sang several tunes to encourage passers-by to dig deep into their pockets. And mum Olivia’s made a generous donation, pledging all the profits from her latest American tour to the victims of the attack.

Having performed in Prior Lake, Minnesota, Olivia was on her way to Atlantic City and Westbury, New Jersey, for two more concerts when tragedy struck.

The show had to go on and, with all air travel suspended, Olivia and her promoter got out and organised themselves a hire car to complete the tour.

A close friend says, “Olivia is an extremely generous person and Chloe has this same spirit of giving to those in need.”
