At 15, Chloe's following in her mum's footsteps and is set for a singing career. She's even got Vanessa Amorosi's producer on board.

Australian pop princess Vanessa Amorosi may soon have to share the limelight with another teenage singing sensation. Olivia Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 15, has signed a major contract with the same recording artists' stable that launched Vanessa to international stardom.

Chloe and Olivia have been in talks with Vanessa's record producer for some months to produce an album, says a Hollywood insider.

The contract allows Chloe to write her own material and then co-produce her first album.

She is not yet 16 [Chloe turns 16 on January 17, next year] but she has developed into a very mature and especially talented young lady. She is intelligent and wise beyond her years.

Chloe is destined to become as big a star as Vanessa and she's in the right hands for this to happen.

Earlier this year, Chloe and Vanessa spent time together during the filming of the made-for-TV movie, The Wilde Girls in which Chloe stars alongside her mother. It is due for release in the US next year.

No doubt, Vanessa gave Chloe plenty of tips during their time together.

Chloe has always dreamed of recording an album, so having a contract with Vanessa's record producer is very special for her, the insider adds.

She has always admired and looked up to Vanessa. Chloe sees her as inspirational, given the huge international success Vanessa has already achieved at such a young age. even though Chloe is very talented in her own right.

There is no doubt at all that she is destined for international stardom, as well.

And, in a snap, shock decision, mum Olivia is determined to quit the United States in order to return home to Australia with Chloe.

Furthermore, Patrick McDermott, the handsome cameraman who has been Olivia's companion and love interest for the past five years, is moving to Australia with them.

Olivia's decision has surprised everyone, but it comes in the wake of the horrifying terrorist attacks on New York and Washington.

There was some uncertainty whether Chloe would go to Australia or not at this time but then terrorists launched their suicide attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The world was stunned by the devastating carnage left in their wake and everyone in the US was numb with fear. Olivia and Chloe were left with no doubt in their minds what they planned to do, our insider says.

Olivia, who came back here last year and was such a hit. along with John Farnham and Vanessa Amorosi, at the star-studded opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, will be packing up and moving out of the palatial Malibu home she and Chloe share, in three weeks' time.

The family will then settle at the farm property Olivia owns near Byron Bay on the New South Wales north coast.

Olivia was touring US venues in September and was in New Jersey when the World Trade Center towers were destroyed by two hijacked airliners, killing thousands of workers, tourists, passengers, fire fighters and police.

She was so stunned and terrified, like everyone else, of course, the insider says. But, with air travel suspended, Olivia pressed on with the tour, using a rented chauffeured car to make her way across the US.

When she had completed the tour, Olivia flew back to Los Angeles, her mind by then made up that she was not going to stay in the US.

Olivia broke the news to her family, staff and industry associates, telling them she would be leaving her Malibu home in the care of her staff as she and Chloe planned to return to Australia.

The horror of the terrorist attacks last month has really shaken them all up and, right now, Olivia just doesn't feel safe living in the United States.

She says Australia is a really safe place and she is so glad and immensely relieved at the moment at the thought of going back there and having that feeling of security.

It doesn't mean she's given up America for good, but for the next 18 months, at least, she will remain mostly in her beloved Australia.
