Fear Hits Hollywood
As a result of the September 11 terrorist attacks and America’s reprisal attacks on Afghanistan, celebrities are fleeing A Hollywood and its environs amid fears for their safety.
Singer Janet Jackson has already cancelled her European tour because of safety concerns. But the terrified singer has now beefed up security at her home in Malibu, just outside LA. And Janet has a carefully devised plan for how she will make her escape if LA is attacked by terrorists. She’ll head for Catalina Island, off the LA coast, by helicopter or speedboat if the city comes under attack.
And Olivia Newton-John is planning to rent out her Malibu mansion for at least 18 months and move back home to Australia with her budding pop star daughter Chloe. A source says: ‘Olivia was in New Jersey on September 11. across the river from New York City, when the attacks took place.
She was so shaken that she hired a driver to take her in a limo all the way to Florida for the next leg of her tour.
When she got home to LA she had a serious talk with Chloe. They decided it would be safer to live in Australia.
“Chloe has signed a deal to record an album with the same company as Vanessa Amorosi, so the timing to live Down Under couldn’t be better.”
Wild pair
Olivia Newton-John and daughter Chloe, 15, star together in The Wilde Girls.
Chloe sings and acts - much like Mum! Meanwhile, the pair are considering returning to Australia to live.
Editor’s note - Olivia hired a car to take her to the next concert because no planes were flying. Olivia wanted to fulfil her concert commitment and also donate the concert proceeds to victims of the attack.
