Blue and White

BLUE delphiniums and white Christmas lilies decorated Holy Trinity Church, Doncaster, for the marriage yesterday Susan Mary, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Osmar White, of Lower Templestowe, with Dr. Hugh Francis Newton-John.

Rev. J. L. Ryan officiated.

A train fell from the back of the bride’s empire line gown of white polished cotton. It was styled with three-quarter-length sleeves and a scooped neckline. An oval of pearls held her mantilla style, silk tulle veil and she carried a Dolly Varden basket of pink and white flowers.

The bridegroom’s sister, Miss Olivia Newton-John, was in attendance. She wore a short frock of pale blue embossed Swiss cotton.

The bridegroom is the only son of Mrs. I. Newton-John, of Jolimont, and Professor B. Newton-John, of Newcastle, New South Wales.

Dr. William Blake, Geelong, was best man.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
