Decree for a Shadow's wife
Bruce Welch, 26-year-old guitarist with the Shadows pop group, offered no defence yesterday when his wife Ann was granted a decree nisi in the London Divorce Court because of his adultery.
Mrs. Welch, of Stanmore, Middlesex, named 20-year-old night club singer Olivia Newton-John as the other woman.
The Welches married in 1959.
Judge Ruttle granted custody of their only child, a seven-year-old boy, to Mrs. Welch.
He ordered Mr. Welch to pay the costs of the suit.
