Euro TV - BBC picks Olivia
OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN will represent the United Kingdom in the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, to be staged in the Brighton Dome on Saturday, April 6.
Following the usual procedure, entries submitted for the “Song For Europe” contest will be whittled down to a short list of six, and Olivia will perform these in Jimmy Savile’s New Year BBC-1 series “Clunk-Click” but, in a change from previous policy, she will sing two per week instead of one. Viewers will then vote to determine the U.K. entry, which will compete against 17 other countries at Brighton.
