Olivia Leads The Field
SHOWING the flag at Brigh-ton Pavilion today Olivia Newton-John, Britain’s entry for tomorrow’s Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in the town and televised throughout the world.
Olivia, with her song Long Live Love, is firm favourite for the title. In the past 24 hours nearly £4000 has been bet on the 24-year-old blonde singer making her 7-2 favourite in front of the Dutch couple Mouth and Macneal who were leading the field for almost a week. Italy’s entry Gigliola Cingquetti, who sings a highly rated ballad, has moved in from 10th place to 3rd, and Ireen Sheer, British girl singing for Luxembourg, is fourth.
