Country Music being overrun?
Let’s take the December 21 country chart in Billboard Magazine. The top album is, Back Home Again, by John Denver. Granted John is obviously from the south and presents a country image. But he is admittedly a pop folk artist.
Others in the same light on this same top 50 are Olivia Newton-John, who despite her award as top country female artist for 1974, is a pop singer. She is the most beautiful singer around, but she is pop.
