Olivia Newton-John, one of pop-music’s biggies, will perform in a single concert on May 18 in the Dane County Coliseum. Australia’s gift to American country music, Miss Newton-John is currently the hottest newcomer to the music scene, winner of this year’s Grammy Award for best single record, “I Honestly Love You.” and named the Country Music Assn.’s Female Vocalist of the Year (1974).
She has earned five gold records in 10 months for records released in this country. Appearing with her will be David Gates, former lead singer with Bread who is now appearing solo. Tickets for the concert, which range from $7 to $5. are now on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Center, or can be ordered by mail.
