Olivia Home For Christmas
Olivia Newton-John, the singer with a string of overseas successes, is to spend Chirstmas with her family in Newcastle.
Professor Brin Newton-John said his daughter telephoned at 5 am from Los Angeles yesterday to say she would be home on December 23.
They had not seen each other for two years. “It’s the best Christmas present I could have,” he said.
Professor Newton-John said it would be a quiet traditional “with doors barred and the phone off the hook” so Miss Newton-John, 27, could rest from a hectic year in which she won top overseas entertainment awards.
Professor Newton-John retired last year from the University of Newcastle where he was professor of German, vice-principal and deputy Vice-Chan-cellor.
