Campbell special Thursday (Olivia and Glen Campbell special from Australia)
LOS ANGELES-(Special)-Olivia Newton-John has returned to Australia, the land of her childhood, as special guest star and “tour guide” for Glen Campbell’s hour-long special, set for CBS-tv’s channel 8 from 11 to midnight Thursday.
Although born in England, Olivia moved with her family when she was five years old to Melbourne, Australia, where her father was master of Ormond College. She lived there for 11 years, “Long enough to make me a real Aussie girl,” she said.
During the special “we’re going to show off a little bit of what Australia’s really like,” she continued.
“Naturally, when somebody discussed a mascot for the show, there was only one choice, a baby kangaroo named Thumper.”
Other locations for the show include the Opera House in Sydney and Ripponlea, a Victorian estate.
