And maybe Newton-John, who is branching out into movies these days by filming “Grease” with John Travolta, should be a little worried if people react to her singing the same way the critic for CountryStyle does.
Critic Jay MacDonald asks, “How does Olivia Newton-John sell records at all, much less to country fans? Unless one finds album covers exciting (I don’t), there seems precious little in her albums - this one (her latest, “Making a Good Thing Better”] included to justify paying $5 for. At best, Miss Newton-John’s voice is capable, if a bit on the thin side, and her style is about as interesting as your average Girl Scout singing around the campfire.”
