Ten best coiffured women

It’s certainly no reflection on my friend George, who fixes my hair.

But I noticed that I didn’t make the 1977 list either.

The Zist annual voting by the Helene Curtis Guild of Professional Hairstylists has come up with the Ten Best Coiffured Women for 1977:

Personalities include singers Marie Osmond, Toni Tennille and Olivia Newton-John; television performers Carol Burnett, Polly Bergen and Sandy Duncan; actress Ali MacGraw, entertainer Ann-Margret, fashion model Cristina Ferrare and Nancy (Mrs. Ronald Reagan).

SEVERAL decided that 1977 was the year to change their look and the first step was to change their hairstyle.

They all preferred short to shoulder-length hair.

IT IS interesting to notice all of the winners have such pretty faces that it really doesn’t matter how they wear their hair.

Take Ali MacGraw, for instance, Dusty Fleming of Beverly Hills. Calif., created the “freedom cut” for her.
