Olivia and her animals
Translation:
Olivia Newton-John lives on her farm in Malibu near Los Angeles with her boyfriend and manager Lee Kramer and many animals.
BRAVO tells you all about Livvy’s four-legged friends… Her hobbies aren’t going to discos or partying – Olivia Newton-John prefers getting up at dawn and stomping through the morning dew on the meadows of her Malibu ranch.
She wears boots, jeans, and a checked shirt. There’s not much left of the adored glamour girl we know from many photos. Olivia is happiest when she can devote as much time as possible to her ever-growing animal family.
Olivia has four horses: Judge, a reddish-brown carriage horse given to her by her boyfriend Lee Kramer; Pipes, a thoroughbred; and the draft horses Alex and George. Two sweet kittens, Gypsy and Lily, are also part of her animal family. Olivia is especially attached to her four dogs: Zargon, a brown-and-black spotted Great Dane; Gretchen, another Great Dane; Domino, a black mongrel; and Jackson, a red Irish Setter.
Olivia cares for her animals like a true “mother.” She brings something back for her children from all her tours and vacations. “My animals are all very happy. I treat each one like an only child. Each animal gets a lot of love and attention, because I believe that is very important when you have animals,” says Olivia.
When the blonde singer is not at home with her own animals, she also tries to do good for other people’s animals. For example, she helps the Jacques Cousteau Society, which is fighting against animal cruelty.
She also works to ensure that film animals are not tortured.
But Olivia doesn’t just want to devote more time to her animal family in the future. She also wants to have her own, “real” family soon. “Lee and I want to have children as soon as possible after we get married. I’m 30 now, and I can’t wait that long to have a baby,” Olivia points out.
Up until now, career has always come first: “I’ve spent 15 years building this career. And it often happens that you work too much and don’t even get a chance to enjoy the success you’ve achieved. I want to avoid that!”
As a singer, Olivia is in the charts in America and here with her hit “A Little More Love”; as an actress, she would like to make another film soon.
“I would like to play in a remake of the musical “Annie Get Your Gun.” Because I could ride horses in it, and that’s my favorite hobby!” she explains. Olivia would also like to play the title role in the film version of the musical “Evita” (about the life of Eva Peron).
