Olivia is currently recording. The album's completion date was originally scheduled for June, but it looks like it will be released around October.
The dolphin incident
completely threw all her tour plans into disarray. Olivia, who commutes to the studio from her home near the Malibu coast in the Los Angeles suburbs, has since burned all of her most treasured fur coats. She couldn't stand the criticism she received: You're all wearing fur from animals and staying cozy and stylish.
Olivia explains, I wasn't protesting against the Japanese people, but the Japanese government. I know the warmth of the Japanese people, and I've felt the kindness of their fans. I wanted the government to take responsibility and find a more prudent solution.
After describing the all-night nursing session following the birth of her seventh foal on her ranch on March 23rd, and the beauty of the foal, Julia, Olivia continues: It's sad, but it seems like the only way a singer can have a policy and assert it to the other country is to refuse to perform.
The living room of Olivia's ranch home is lined with sofas in a small floral print, a refreshing atmosphere that's just right for Olivia's tastes.
We won't be able to see Olivia for a while, but the soundtrack for the much-talked-about film "Grease" will be released on July 21st (Polydor MW Z-8107~8). It includes three duets with John Travolta, as well as two solo tracks, including Hopelessly Devoted To You.
Listen to Olivia through this new album whilst waiting for the case to be resolved.
