Olivia Newton-John article

Translation from German:

DREAM MEETING WITH OLIVIA BRAVO reader Otto zu Thorsten Marquardt (18) from Hamm flew to Hollywood to meet Olivia Newton-John to present her with the Golden Globe. He has written down how his meeting with her went in his own words...

I'm writing this report at the Hyatt Hotel in Los Angeles. It's 9:15 p.m., the end of a day that, in many ways, was different than usual. My room is on the 9th floor. Below my balcony, a vast sea of lights stretches as far as the eye can see.

It was just a few hours ago, the Otto handover to Olivia, the actual beginning of my Hollywood trip.

I was supposed to meet Olivia Newton-John at noon, in the heart of Beverly Hills, in a room at the famous Beverly Wilshire Hotel. We arrive at a quarter to twelve.

We are Dagmar Dunlevy, the boss of the BRAVO Hollywood office, and not to forget Henry, the photographer.

Of course, I'm pretty nervous about it too. Everything is postponed a bit; we have a drink in the hotel lobby; I try to appear somewhat uninvolved. Finally, Frank, who takes care of Olivia's appointments, comes and picks us up.

Then it's time; we enter Olivia's apartment. Footsteps on the stairs coming from above. No doubt, it's Olivia. Smiling friendly as befits her.

She looks tired. Nevertheless, she greets us nicely and asks how my trip was. Henry begins his work. I ask her if it's difficult to always appear with that photographer's smile. You get used to it, she replies. Now — or so it seems — with a natural smile.

Now comes the rest: congratulations on your second Golden Otto, countless pictures, the usual kissing photo.

A little hectic, she doesn't have much time, she has to go to a concert in Australia.

She talks about her problem with the neighbors, who have something against the ten dogs on her farm in Malibu. There was a lawsuit, but Olivia happily explains: We won, I can keep them all.

Only for a short time, then it's all over, unfortunately, much too quickly...
