Meet Olivia Newton-John Superstar
Olivia Newton-John is a popular recording artist and actress. She has a new album out that is a big hit.
Olivia was born in Cambridge, England, and moved to Melbourne, Australia, at the age of 5. She became interested in singing and dancing at an early age and formed a group called the Sol Four. It didn’t last long because she was so busy with schoolwork.
At 15, Olivia won her first talent contest and a trip to England. Although her father was a college principal and her grandfather a scientist who won the Nobel Prize, she decided against college. Instead, she stayed in England to perform.
An animal lover, Olivia has eight dogs and five horses.
In 1971, she recorded her firs big hit. “If Not For You.”
After many more hit records and music awards, Olivia starred in “Grease.” It was the most successful musical film ever made. She was also in the movie “Xanadu.”
Olivia now lives in Malibu, Calif. She believes in physical fitness and enjoys tennis, swimming and skiing. For a healthy diet, she eats lots of vegetables.
