Olivia Newton-John article

Translation from Dutch:

The multi-million dollar duo from Grease reunites for a comedy film

One of the most popular duos ever created in the Hollywood dream factory was undoubtedly Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. It's therefore all the more surprising that these two, after the enormous success of Grease, never appeared in a film together again.

That problem has now been remedied. John and Olivia will soon be seen side by side in the film Two Of A Kind, in which they portray a happy and madly in love couple who, through a coincidence, find themselves in control of the world's fate.

Appointments On Stage

Once the commotion surrounding Grease had died down, John and Olivia lost touch.

Olivia Newton-John launched an impressive musical career that yielded million-dollar hits like I Honestly Love You and Physical, and also shone in film successes like Xanadu.

John Travolta had a harder time. He didn’t quite live up to the expectations placed on him with films like Blow Out and Urban Cowboy. But now, thanks to the success of his latest film Stayin’ Alive, things are back on track for him as well, and nothing stood in the way of a reunion for the lovely couple.

It was John who took the initiative. During Olivia Newton-John's recent concert tour of the United States, he attended several shows, and even popped in occasionally on stage to sing a tune.

It was during one of these encounters that he suggested to his former partner that they collaborate on a project he had read the script for and was very enthusiastic about - Two Of A Kind.

Dangerous Villain

It's striking that there's no singing in Two Of A Kind. The film makers indeed decided not to let John and Olivia shine in a musical, but in a thrilling, romantic, and comedic story that emphasizes their acting talents.

So what's it about? We don't want to reveal the whole ending here, of course, but we will reveal that lovebirds John and Olivia face an extremely dangerous villain who has the world in his grasp.

The couple, however, refuses to give up and decides to do something about it. It's not all that difficult, so you can imagine that everything has a happy ending.

Besides Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, the main roles are played by villain Oliver Reed, known for Tommy, Charles Durning, who received an Oscar nomination for his role in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Beatrice Straight starring in Network and Poltergeists, Scatman Crothers, the talented black actor who shone in The Shinings and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

There's no shortage of good actors in this film, which will be released here early next year.

The world is in danger, but don't worry: John and Olivia will handle the situation, and everything ends happily ever after.
After "Grease," this is the first film to feature one of Hollywood's most likeable film duos back at work.
