I Want Another Baby

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN, who still calls Australia home, looks set to move back here on a more permanent basis.

One of the country’s great ambassadors, Olivia plans to be a semi-permanent resident again.

The British-born star, who came here as a child, regularly returns and now wants her new family to live here for extended periods.

One of the main reasons is that Olivia and her American husband. Matt Lattanzi, are planning another child.

Olivia has told friends she wants to have the baby in Australia.

Here since Christmas with Matt and their daughter Chloe, Olivia made no secret of the fact she wants her family, especially Chloe, who turned two on January 18, to spend a lot more time here.

When she returns to Los Angeles next month, she will have been here more than two months and will be back by the end of 1988.

This month she is filming a cable television special of her new album. She will spend the rest of February travelling all over the country filming the different songs.

Speaking exclusively to TV WEEK, Olivia says she wants to take the rest of the year off after completing the special.

And she confirms her plans for a second child.

“Yes, we’d love a brother or a sister for Chloe,” she says. “That’s what we are planning. After the special and the launch of the album, that’ll be it. I want to take some time off.”

Olivia was thrilled she could spend two months in Australia during the Bicentennial year.

“It’s been very nice,” she says. “It just happened coincidentally that I made an album that would be out in the Bicentenary year. So it was perfect.”

Olivia and the family spent Christmas at their farm in Ballina. in Northern NSW.

It was Matt and Chloe’s first fair dinkum Aussie Christmas, which meant a lot to Olivia.

“It was lovely. I had a very quiet Christmas,” she says. “It was just Matt and me and Chloe together. and we saw the family afterwards. We had a real quiet time.

“I’m trying to come out more often now. It’s just getting Matt coordinated so he’s not working when I’m not working so we can both come out at the same time.”

“Matt loves it here, but Christmas was very hot.”

Olivia is planning on dividing her time between Australia and the US, saying her Koala Blue empire probably will always draw her back to Los Angeles.

“It takes up a lot of time,” she says. “We now have 12 shops.”

Olivia admits she and her Aussie partner Pat Farrar hadn’t planned on the business being so successful.

“We hoped they would take off, but it’s been so fast,” she says.
