In The Spotlight

Translation from French:

Elton John has written her new song: "The Rumour". Olivia Newton-John is a very wise young woman

John Travolta’s former co-star in “Grease” is back with a vengeance with a hit single that’s playing on every radio station.

This ethereal beauty, born in Cambridge and raised in Melbourne, Australia, rose to fame in 1977 in “Grease,” where she starred opposite John Travolta.

Since then, she’d practically disappeared from the public eye. During those ten years, she devoted herself to her family, her husband — “an angel,” she says — her little girl, and launching a worldwide chain of stores, Koala Blue, selling clothing and food products exclusively from Australia.

Now she’s back with a new album, “Rumour,” produced by Elton John. The press release accompanying the album’s release speaks of “her devastating charm.”

We can therefore expect to be swept up in a whirlwind of irresistible, undeniable seduction, worse than the Alicia and Alberta cycles combined.

And instead, we find a young woman with a demure air, meticulous and precious to a fault. She constantly has to be careful not to move too much so as not to disturb the impeccable order of her blow-dry, and she absolutely refuses to be left alone with journalists, thus never parting with her secretary-nanny. But she says she is interested in people, the environment, children, relationships between men and women, the problem of AIDS, wars…

The press kit also says: “She has a superb voice and, what’s more, she’s very pretty.” Truly very pretty, indeed, Miss Newton-John.
