Volunteering for her first Special Olympics, Australian singer Olivia Newton-John (in a hand-knit Australian sweater from her Koala Blue boutique) worked on the Alpine skiing events at Squaw Valley. Other venues were Royal Gorge for cross-country skiing and Reno and Sparks, Nev., for floor hockey and skating.
