A Beginner's Guide To Grease
(WELL-A-WELL-A-WELL-A-UH!)
Grease was a massively popular film way back in 1978. It spawned several million-selling singles and caused everyone to do silly dances and put unhealthy amounts of gel into their hair. Then, last year, the video was released and a “snappy” medley of three of the film’s best-loved musical moments - “Summer Nights”, “You’re The One That I Want” and “Greased Lightning” - became a hit. And to save you the bother of watching all 102 “glorious” minutes, here’s the condensed version of it for you:
★ Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) meet one summer holiday. They have a bit of a snog whilst building sandcastles together and sigh a lot for some reason.
★ It’s the end of summer (sniff!) but our fun twosome suddenly discover they both go to the same school (hurrah!). Everyone dances in the gym to celebrate this amazing coincidence!
★ Danny and Sandy have a tiff over the tightness of his pants and split. His pants do likewise soon after. Danny then decides he’d rather spend time with his pals who like to stand on car bonnets.
★ Sandy wins Danny back after mistakenly placing her crap-wig in the spin dryer during a moment of supreme carelessness. To celebrate, everyone attends the school fete.
★ Just time for one more quick snog as Danny and Sandy slide about in Danny’s “greasemobile”. Eventually they drive off the screen together in unwedded bliss. And, er, that’s about it!
