Olivia Newton-John will visit mall to show Spring/Summer collection
PALM DESERT - Olivia Newton-John and Pat Farrar, co-founders of Koala Blue, an international women’s fashion designer and manufacturers chain, will visit Palm Desert, Thursday to introduce their new Spring and Summer collection of dress and sportswear.
Newton-John and Farrar will be at Koala Blue’s Palm Desert Town Center store from 1 to 3 p.m. for a public autograph session and from 6 to 8 p.m. for an invitation-only fashion show hosted by Koala Blue’s licensees Carolyne and Walt Traver.
Koala Blue has taken a soft and casual, yet feminine, approach to its 1991 spring collection, combining delicate textures, colorful prints and patterns from the latest color palette.
The spring collection is divided into three distinct groups: The Denim/Chambray Collection, Feminine Basics, and The Bedarra Bay Collection. Each was in-spired by the company’s Australian heritage and adapted to appeal to a multifaceted fashion customer.
Under the guidance of Newton-John and Farrar, Koala Blue has become one of the fastest growing fashion designers/manufacturers in the world while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental issues. The pair started the company in 1983.
Since then, Newton-John has become widely-known for her work as an international businesswoman and environmentalist. She was recently named Goodwill Ambassador for the Environment by the United Nations Environmental Program.
Farrar oversees the day-to-day operations of Koala Blue, which has grown to include 57 speciality retail stores in six countries. She is also active in the design and manufacture of the company’s exclusive fashions.
