Cliff and Olivia perform in Melbourne
Sir Cliff swoops and conquers
IT’S difficult to imagine someone having a bad night at a Cliff Richard concert.
Performing at Melbourne Park last night to kick off the Australian leg of his 40th anniversary tour, Richard proved why he is one of the world’s most enduring entertainers. Richard, 57, charmed the audience with energetic versions of his hits, Including Devil Woman, Do You Wanna Dance and Wired for Sound.
Backed by the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, Richard’s voice has lost none of its polish. And Olivia Newton-John, dressed in a clinging pale gold velvet gown, was a stunning addition to the show.
She opened with Physical and followed with Hopelessly Devoted to You and two duets with Richard: Suddenly and Twelfth of Never.
The pair teamed up later for All I Ask, culminating in a passionate embrace.
Richard’s final Melbourne show is tonight.
