Air care for your skin
I was so looking forward to my trip back home to Oz, but I must admit I wasn’t overjoyed about the flight. It’s exhausting and, when it comes to your skin, flying is drying. My solution is to board a plane free of make-up and armed with my favourite moisturiser. I always carry a water spray, which hydrates me, and my moisturiser seals it in.
I’m careful to drink a let of water during the flight and steer clear of coffee and alcohol. I also take a good neck support cushion, if I’m planning to sleep, or a small lavender-scented pillow. And I practise deep breathing, stretch regularly and walk around the plane. All of which ensures a much happier landing!
Not all iron is the same
The amount of iron you eat and the amount that you actually absorb are two very different things. When I attempted to become a vegetarian I found I got anaemia, so now I ensure I eat red meat whenever my body craves it. And when I can, I buy organic meat because at least the cows haven’t been pumped full of hormones!
If you can’t eat meat, eat lots of leafy vegetables (but spinach isn’t a great source of iron). lentils, dried apricots, figs and raisins, ogg yolks and iron-fortified cereals. Try to consume some vitamin C, such as a glass of orange juice, with your meal as it aids iron absorption.
