Looking great with Olivia
The best thing about being back home in Australia is showing Chloe lots more of the country where I grew up. When I decided to come out here for the two-month concert tour and holiday, there was no way I was going to leave her behind in America.
She’s having a ball. In Sydney, we went out on the harbour for a sail on the Bounty and even though the weather wasn’t the best, we had a great time and the fresh food and salads were fabulous! Chloe loved the film Everest we saw at the Imax theatre, but I don’t think I’ll be rushing off to climb it - far too scary!
Family is so important to me - not just Chloe, but my mum, brother and his kids and I’ve caught up with all of them here. I’ve barely had a spare minute my daughter had a couple of friends aver from LA who were visiting here with their Australian mother so we were hanging out with them. But it isn’t all play for Chloe. Because she is missing school back in the States, she has a home tutor every morning - then she’s free to have some fun. She goes to most of my shows or is looked after in the evening by an Australian nanny.
In Melbourne, apart from visiting my sick mum every day. I caught up with old school friends from University High who I hadn’t seen since I was 15 we reminisced until about 1am.
The concerts are fantastic, really incredible. I really enjoyed performing with the two guys. Who wouldn’t have fun with John Farnham and Anthony Wariow? This trip I’ve discovered I really like performing with someone else much more than I do on my own.
After the show, I usually ask friends who come to see me back to my hotel and we have a girlie time. I get into my pyjamas and sit around and have a cup of tea.
It’s been a wonderful trip. I’m going home to Malibu in just over a week but I can’t wait for my next trip back to Australia.
