Christmas with Chloe

I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. I’m starting to buy goodies and food for a huge meal.

Chloe and I will invite close friends and family around to our home for a traditional turkey dinner with cranberry sauce. Our tree, which is more than 2m high, is plastic, but once we’ve added the decorations and what seems like thousands of lights, you can’t tell the difference. It looks fabulous.

We try to do our bit for the environment over this period by buying a small live tree and then planting it in our garden.

I’ve already bought a Christmas plum pudding in Australia because they’re hard to find in the States. I’ll cook the turkey, roast the vegetables and make a salad. A very American thing we do is to put marshmallows on top of mashed sweet potato and melt them under the grill. Very yummy!

I can’t wait for the big day to arrive. I love exchanging presents, being with the people I love and experiencing that feeling of togetherness only Christmas can bring.
