An hour to your day
Do you grab a slice of toast as you run out the door, or apply your make-up at red traffic lights?
Wouldn’t we all love an extra hour or two a day? There’s always so much to do and so little time to do it in. I start my day pretty early and usually collapse into bed at around midnight.
Now, if I were a bit better organised, I’m sure I could get more done… Here are a few tips to help you find 60 minutes for yourself.
Revamp your paperwork
Paperwork is a nightmare. Letting your paperwork stack up means you’ll have to devote a whole day to sorting it out. In the meantime, your electricity or phone may be disconnected because of your tardiness. As soon as a bill arrives, pay it, then file it away for future reference. To save even more time, have separate files for your tax and insurance details. Consider paying bills by direct debit.

Simplify your beauty routine
Is your bathroom cluttered with cosmetics? Are there things you haven’t used for years? You need only a few items for your beauty routine, so be ruthless. Toss out any unnecessary iterns or give them to a child for dress-up days. Keep your routine simple: a cleanser, toner, moisturiser, foundation, blusher, eyeliner and mascara will do the trick.

Spring-clean your wardrobe
Wardrobes are another area that tend to get out of control. They are usually stuffed with clothes we never wear if you haven’t worn an item for two years, give it away. In winter, put summer clothes into storage, and vice versa. Hang outfits together so that when you’re rushing to get ready for work, you’re not searching for that matching top.
Do it with a diary
Rely on a diary. Make a list each moming-jot down anything that has to be done then go out and do it! Put key dates in your diary so you don’t miss birthdays or social engagements and waste time trying to work out where you’re supposed to be next weekend. To save even more time, buy an electronic diary for quick access to numbers, memos and addresses.
