Olivia performed (mimed) The Rumour on the popular German TV show Wetten Dass.

The set was imaginatively designed, featuring blinking eyes and large ears — all, of course, watching and listening to rumours. Olivia wore a large orange skirt, which, let's just say, was very much of its time.

Towards the end of the song, a fan slipped past security to present Olivia with flowers and even managed to give her a peck on the cheek. This clearly wasn’t scripted, so it could have come as a surprise to Olivia, but it was all very sweet, and she didn’t seem at all flustered.

The host, Gottschalk, briefly spoke to Olivia afterwards about the single (which had reached the top 40 in Germany) and presented her with even more flowers. Olivia, laughing, noticed more fans in the audience waiting to give her yet more bouquets.
