Life As I Know It

If I could change anything about myself… There’s a few things, but I don’t want to draw attention to my flaws.

The most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me is… Propose to me during a game of charades. My husband John acted out, “Will you marry me?”

Not a lot of people know this but I’m very good at… cooking. My speciality? We call it “kitchen roulette” — I throw together whatever is in the fridge and see what happens.

You may not know it but I’m no good at… maths. I was terrible at school and it’s something my brain just couldn’t get around.

To wake myself up I… drink a glass of Zamu, which is a blend of organic rainforest ingredients. Then I like to go and walk the dogs.

Last thing at night I always…moisturise, get the dogs settled, then maybe watch a little

If I have time to myself I… like to go for a walk or head to the beach, but I usually do that with John — I prefer it when we’re together.

When I’m feeling down I…exercise, usually by playing tennis.

My “happy place” is… anywhere with my friends and family.

My best friend is… my husband. I love him, I respect him and he’s very wise and very kind.

The best thing my parents taught me - is to work hard, not to take yourself too seriously, and be responsible for yourself.

if I can, I always try to avoid…dessert. I really like it but you’ve got to try andIkeep a trim figure, right? But I do treat myself occasionally.

It’s not good for my image but I like…reality TV. I’m fascinated by how people behave with a camera on them.

My biggest influence… is my parents. You don’t realise it at the time, but they shape the way you look at things and you don’t understand until you‘re older how much your belief system is influenced by your childhood.

My greatest weakness is…chocolate. I do have a thing for dark chocolate, but then it’s good for you, isn’t it’?

If I could pass any law it would be… to outlaw cruelty to animals.

I drive… a Prius.

The song I can never get out of my head is… just about every song I hear will trigger a memory and then it’s in my head for the rest of the day.

When I was a child I wanted to be… a mounted policewoman because it meant I could ride a horse and get paid for it, which sounded like a fantastic job.

My biggest regret is… not touring with Frank Sinatra. I don’t regret the decision - my daughter Chloe was young and I didn’t want to leave her, but I regret missing the opportunity.

My proudest moment… was Chloe’s birth. It was life-changing, the most incredible thing, and it continues to be as I watch her grow.

The Shop I can’t walk past without buying something is… CVS, a chain of pharmacies in the States.

I know I’m having a bad hair day when…I put it up.

My perfect Sunday is - brunch, reading the paper, going to the beach, then to a movie.

On my last holiday… we went to The Bahamas.

The book I’m currently reading…is The Restless Universe by Max Born He’s my grandfather.

The best day of my life… was singing at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Sydney in 2000. It was an incredible experience.

My last meal would be… all fresh, organic ingredients from our spa.
