Back to Basics was to have been the start of an overhaul of Olivia's career, with four new songs and a tour of the US planned. However, in July of 1992 came the shock news that she was very ill with breast cancer, and the tour had to be cancelled. She was successfully treated over the next year, and has now been cured.

Back To Basics has different tracks depending on the singles successes in the different markets - the general sleeve artwork is similar across all the versions.
