Xanadu wasn't quite as successful as Grease, in fact it was a flop at the box-office. The soundtrack was tremendously successful, with the ELO title song sung by Olivia, and Olivia achieved a US #1 single with the song Magic.
The sound quality of the European and US CDs is considerably better than that of the Australian 'Red Hot' Sony Music Australia label CD which is muffled and compressed. The 1998 Sony UK release and the MCA release are in another league and both have excellent sound quality
