A benefit concert for the UNICEF fund to kick off the
United Nation's Year of the Child, performed in the U.N. General Assembly Hall. Performers
included Abba, The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb, Rod Stewart, Donna Summer, John Denver, Elton
John, Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson.
Olivia performed The Key and dueted with Andy Gibb for Rest Your Love On Me. The music can
be found on the UNICEF album
This was a concert with a purpose, designed to provide food, health care, shelter and
education for the children in greatest need in 100 developing countries around the globe.
The performers involved donated a copyright or the royalties from a song to benefit
UNICEF, hoping to further the organization's vital work while inspiring others to do the
same. The MUSIC FOR UNICEF Concert was televised internationally, beamed out to some 70
countries.
